Still in need of volunteers. It's time to start thinking about our annual Book Fair that takes place in December. This is our largest targeted fundraiser, with all our proceeds going directly to the Lowell Library. Last year we had sales over $12,000 and Ms. Steim was able to spend almost $7000 on new books for the library (we get a portion of the sales to spend). This year our goal is $14,000. Book Fair details are at the bottom of this post. To view volunteer opportunities (discussed in greater detail below) click here.
Public Book Fair 12/4
New last year, we hosted a public sale. Since the book fair is only open to Lowell families during the school week, we decided to try out a hosted public fair the Sunday prior. It was such a great success we will do it again this year!
Something Everyone Looks Forward To
The annual book fair is something teachers, students and parents look forward to every year. The kids love it because Ms. Steim will work with each class during the first day or two of the fair and have the kids create a wish list of books they'd like. The kids will bring the lists home and Parents are able to come into the fair and purchase those books and many others (well I do at least) for gifts or just to add to their collections.
The teachers love it because they are able to fill a basket with books they'd like to add to their classroom collections. When parents or family or friends are checking out, they can browse through their teachers baskets. If they want to purchase a book, they simply add it to their pile, pay for the books, and have their child deliver it to their teacher!
The book fair is an amazing fundraiser and one that everyone in the Lowell benefits from. Teachers get books for their classrooms, children get new books to enjoy and Ms. Steim is able to continue to add to our amazing school library!

This fair is no small endeavor, we need a lot of volunteers to make it a success. The more people we have, the quicker a lot of the setting up and breaking down goes. The work is not hard and it's certainly rewarding. So please take a look at the volunteer opportunities and consider helping so we can reach our sales goal of $14,000.

The PTO has many great events and fundraisers throughout the course of the school year. Each one offers various types of opportunities for parent involvement and relies on that involvement to be successful.
The Volunteer Page was created so that parents could have a snapshot of the most current volunteer opportunities available for our upcoming events and fundraisers. And throughout the course of the year the page will be continuously updated as new events and fundraisers occur.
There are many options to volunteer whether its for an in person event or fundraiser, or on your own time for our annual auction.
So be sure to check out the page and opportunities and if you can, volunteer!
