International Night Friday January 29th Lowell GYM 6-8pm Join the PTO as we celebrate our school's cultural diversity. The gym is set up as a multicultural meca, where students are able to walk around and "visit" different countries and learn about their culture. Each student gets a passport, and as they visit each table, they gets a sticker to show they have been to the table. The tables are created by our own school families. Can I participate? Any family that would like to have their country represented is welcome. We provide a table, and you would decorate it with flags, maps, posters, clothing, anything that would showcase the country and it's culture. Potluck: After the tour of the tables, everyone joins in a wonderful potluck dinner to sample a taste from other countries. We ask that everyone coming whether they host a table or not bring a dish to share. We are also asking for donations of paper plates, napkins or water bottles. The countries represented so far are: Argentina, Australia, Dominican Republic, Germany, Greece, Guatemala, Hungary, Ireland, Japan, Namibia, Palestine, Russia, Senegal, Switzerland, Turkey, Vietnam Who do I contact to participate? If you would like to host a table, or if you'd like to volunteer to help out during the event, please email yolyett@gmail.com or sign up here. |
